In anticipation of Two Hands Two Crowns

I’ve been a busy bee working away on new items for a more focused product + project line. It will replace my current line, Go Eat Some Poison Productions. (I started working under that name when I was 17, and feel like its time to update it a bit to reflect who I am now.) The new items will be available for sale on Etsy in December. In the meanwhile I'm still toying around with a new logo. The company name is Two Hands Two Crowns. I won’t go into the backstory for the name but I will say it relates to a pair of tattoos I’m getting in November. Currently I’m trying to come up with a simple but eye catching logo, though along the way I’ve had some fun experimenting with some more elaborate designs. I've had a Wacom tablet for almost a year and haven't got much use out of it (I just like drawing on paper), so playing around with these designs was good practice for my hand to screen coordination. I’ve posted some of the “just for fun” and early drafts here and would appreciate any comments/ feedback you’ve got, as it may help me solidify the final design! Click to enlarge the images.

  1. I like the design on the pink one the best, but I like the brown leafy background. I want to know the back story on the name, though!

Also, are the final 2 hand crowns? Because that is so cool that I will start a crown gang with you and those will be our gang symbols.

  2. Thanks, good to know. And yep, the last two were my attempt to contort my hands into crowns.

We can start a crown gang but only if our sole purpose is to do random acts of kindness.

  3. These are some fancy designs. My favourite is the blue one at the top. It's nice, simple and the shade of blue is calming.

  4. I like them all. But, for what it's worth, I especially dig on the last 'crown gang' sign... simple and enigmatic. And also the one above it, with the hands cupping the crowns, suggesting productivity and projection.

  5. These are all pretty great. My personal faves would be the top blue coloured one and the yellow one.

  6. Either the green or the blue with flowers, I think. But I had to think hard so they all work for me. I'm excited to find out more!

    EMAIL TIME. FROM YOU.

  7. OH but also I might like the HANDS of the brown better than the hands of the blue. BLAH BLAH BLAH. Also I like the hard typographical (?) font a lot. And that's enough from me.

  8. I am teaching my kids the crown-gang symbols when I get home from work.
    Before I say "hello".
Then we're going out to bust up the hood with random kindness.
The light blue one with the cupped hands, however, is most likely to intrigue me and make me want to know more about your "products and projects"
    :)

  10. Hi Meags!

Is it possible that I bought some postcards of hands doing things (wait, 3 hands and one pair of feet) silkscreened with wall-paper-like patterned backgrounds from you, at the San Francisco Alternative Press Expo in...2007?

They have no identifying artist marks on them, and I love them, but 10 minutes after leaving the expo I forgot who had made them. They look quite similar to these hands/crowns designs.

I found your blog though Becky Johnson's this morning!
